Listening and Psychological Support
A free, confidential counselling service offering professional psychological support for personal, academic and work-related challenges. It helps participants strengthen coping strategies, improve emotional wellbeing and build resilience. It is open to all SISSA personnel (students, postdocs, fixed-term and permanent employees, collaborators) and is offered in English and Italian.
To access the service, write to sissacare@gmail.com. The psychologists, Dr Erica Costantini and Dr Martina Richiardi, usually reply within 5 days and schedule an appointment within 15 days.
This is not an emergency or psychological crisis intervention service.
A confidential and professionally facilitated space where members of the SISSA community can reflect on personal and professional challenges related to work, study, everyday life and emotional experience. Through discussion and attentive listening, participants explore thoughts, emotions and interpersonal dynamics, develop greater awareness of relational patterns and find support in exchange with others.
Topics may include stress, relationships, motivation, uncertainty, identity and life transitions. The service is led by qualified psychologists and counsellors with clinical expertise in mental health.
The service is part of the PRO-BEN project: see Training and Organisational Wellbeing (PRO BEN).
The Confidential Counsellor, Dr Francesca Pidone, provides free advice and assistance to every person at SISSA who feels discomfort or is subjected to discrimination, harassment, violation of dignity or bullying.
The SISSA codes of conduct for the protection of dignity are available among the Statutes and Regulations.
The ombudspersons are independent, neutral and confidential resources who help students and postdocs with conflicts within research groups and in their personal and professional relationships with supervisors.
